Dim or Faded Signal or Brake Lights on Your Trailer

After you have connected your brake and signal light to your tow trailer and you notice that the lights or very dim/faded or not on at all- it may be a dirty connection at the ground wore. Pull the connectors apart- a dead give away would be a green build up. The connection can still be dirty or corroded even if you don’t see anything.
A quick fix if you’re out and about would be to take a nail file and try and file the contact points on the female end.

As soon as you are able ( or you are sure its the dirty connect and still not working) give it a thorough clean,
Cleaning the ground at the frame and use sandpaper to clean all contact points. Use the sandpaper to make completely shiny.

Get yourself some dielectric grease and dab on frame and screws. Tighten and coat with more. This will prevent any further corrosion. ( Note- a good idea to keep some sandpaper and packet of grease in your trailer)
